About This Project

Client: The Arts Council of Fayetteville | Cumberland County

Role: Creative Director

Event: True to Yourself, a Black History Month Talk Series featuring actor Boris Kodjoe, presented as part of the Arts Council’s 45th anniversary programming

The Challenge

This event was a ticketed Black History Month talk series built around a recognizable public figure. The design had to read as polished and editorial rather than festive. It also had to carry the Arts Council’s 45th anniversary branding while still giving the guest speaker top billing.

What I Did

I designed the campaign identity and materials for the event, including:

  • Consistent integration of the Arts Council’s 45th anniversary mark across all pieces
  • A custom script logotype for “True to Yourself” paired with a clean, portrait-forward layout
  • A sponsorship and program booklet featuring presenting sponsor placement and event details
  • A highway billboard design built around the same portrait and typography system
  • Posters, banners, and signage for the cocktail hour and live event
  • Physical tickets
  • Press badges and employee badges for everyone working the event
  • Digital and print ads

The Result

A more editorial, sophisticated identity that set this event apart visually from the Arts Council’s other campaigns, while still reading as clearly part of the same organization’s 45th anniversary year.
